Mr. Tony, Dinh Duc Thang - Stavian Group’s Chairman: Business connectivity is key to enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnam’s plastics industry

On July 3, 2026, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Plastics Association (VPA) held the “VPA – Member Connectivity & Aspiration to Rise” Gathering, attracting many member enterprises, partners, and industry experts.

In the opening remarks, Mr. Tony, Dinh Duc Thang – Chairman of Stavian Group and Chairman of the Vietnam Plastics Association  – emphasized that amid ongoing global economic uncertainties, business competitiveness is no longer determined solely by production capacity or market scale, but increasingly by the ability to adapt, proactively mobilize resources, and collaborate within a closely connected business community. He noted that Vietnam’s plastics industry maintained its growth momentum in 2025, reaching an estimated market size of USD 34.3 billion with export turnover approaching USD 10 billion. However, the industry continues to face significant challenges, including fluctuations in raw material supply, rising logistics costs, increasingly stringent requirements related to green transformation, ESG, EPR, as well as the growing use of trade remedy measures in international markets. In the face of rapid changes in the global business environment, strengthening connectivity among enterprises, sharing market intelligence, staying updated on industry trends, and fostering collaboration will help enhance the adaptability and competitiveness of the entire plastics industry. This also remains one of the Vietnam Plastics Association’s key priorities as it continues to serve as a bridge between businesses and government authorities, as well as domestic and international organizations.

Earlier, delegates visited the manufacturing facility of An Phat Plastic Joint Stock Company in Hai Phong, where they learned about the company’s production processes, quality management system, and technology applications in manufacturing.
